The motor vehicle (1) has a radio interface (14) e.g. wireless local area network, for a wireless communication system (2). A control device (15) connected with the interface is arranged such that it controls a function of the vehicle based on a communication signal received via the interface. The function of the vehicle includes switching on and/or off an ignition of the vehicle. The control device transmits clear identification information assigned to the vehicle to the interface, if the motor vehicle enters into radio regions (7-9) of access points (10-12) of the communication system. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for controlling a function of a motor vehicle (2) a method for controlling a function of a motor vehicle.
