A thin film for a surface coating member for a cutting tool/an abrasion resistance tool is provided to increase abrasion resistance and closeness by depositing alpha-A1203 thin film with 2-15mum on the TiBmCxNyOz (w+x+y+z=1, w,x,y>=0) thin film. Set coefficients TC(110) and TC(030) of crystal faces(110,030) of alpha-A1203 thin film are more than 1.5. The set coefficients of other crystal faces are less than 1.0. The alpha-A1203 thin film has heat crack and is deposited on the TiBmCxNyOz (w+x+y+z=1, w,x,y>=0) thin film. TC(hkl)=I(hkl)/I0(hkl){1/nSigmaI(hkl)/I0(hkl)}-1. I(hkl) is diffraction intensity of the crystal face. I0(hkl) is a standard diffraction intensity of the ASTM standard powder diffraction information. n is the number of crystal faces used for calculation. The crystal faces(hkl) is (012),(104),(110),(113),(024),(116),(124),(030).
