PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning system and a navigation system that reduce trajectory discontinuities due to map matching by correcting determined positions more precisely. SOLUTION: The positioning system 10, which detects the position of a vehicle by means of a radio navigation positioning means 1 such as a GPS, has autonomous sensors 2 and 3 for detecting behavioral information about the vehicle, and a position detection means for adding the information detected by the autonomous sensors 2 to the position determined by the radio navigation positioning means 1 to detect an autonomous-navigation-determining position. The position detection means estimates the position of the vehicle from either the determined position or the autonomous-navigation-determining position and from a predicted position predicted from a history of past autonomous-navigation-determining positions.
