PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator of a rotating electric machine which can ensure insulating performance including partial discharge resistance while maintaining favorable processability, and has an improved conductor occupying rate in a slot. SOLUTION: The stator of the rotating electric machine is provided with a cylindrical stator iron core having a plurality of slots formed in a circumferential direction, and a stator winding housed in each of the slots. In the stator, at least one part of conductor blank wires 33a of a plurality of conductor blank wires 33a is stacked so as to surface-contact to one another, a PPS resin external layer 33c is formed on its circumference to form a segment 33, and the stator winding is formed of this segment 33.
