PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of easily guiding a user to a subsequent operation, even in a remote controller having no bidirectional communication function. SOLUTION: If the user wants to perform video recording, the remote controller urges the user to set whether or not an operation guidance (navigation: LED display) is required. If it is required, when a navigation button is pressed and a video recording button is subsequently pressed (both the buttons may be simultaneously pressed), an LED of the video recording button blinks to notify the user that it is a subsequent operation button candidate. If the user guided by the blinking LED presses the video recording button, video recording processing actually starts and the LED of the video recording button is changed from blinking to lighting. At the same time, an LED of a stop button as a subsequent candidate blinks to notify the user. On the contrary, the navigation is not required, the user does not press the navigation button, but presses the video recording button.
