PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield member having a grounding portion arranged on an upper surface side (viewer side of PDP) of a glass plate, in which the grounding portion can be highly reliably provided extendedly to a lower surface side by a simple method without using a conductive tape. SOLUTION: The shield member is provided with an extension E in which a flexible layer 15, a metal pattern 16 consisting of a metal pattern portion 16a and a grounding portion 16b arranged on a peripheral edge so as to continue thereto, and a reflection preventing film 20, are successively formed on a glass plate 10. The flexible layer 15 and the grounding portion 16b of the metal pattern layer 16 extend from one end side of the glass plate 10. In the shield member, the extension E is folded from the side surface of the one end side of the glass plate 10 to the bottom surface, and bonded on the glass plate 10, and the grounding portion 16b extends to the bottom surface side of the glass plate 10.
