PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a person imaging device capable of imaging a smiling subject, and a control method thereof and a control program thereof. SOLUTION: Output information such as moving pictures, still pictures, and speeches making the subject smile is stored in a digital still camera. When the output information is selected (step 41) and then a shutter release button is pressed (YES at step S42), the selected output information is presented (displayed or voiced out) to a person who is the subject (step S43). The subject is imaged to obtain a subject image. Image data representing the subject image are recorded on a recording medium (step 44). Expression recognition of the subject image is carried out (step 46) and the smiling probability of the stored output information is updated according to whether the subject is smiling (steps 47, 48).
