PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly write data to a desired sector. SOLUTION: A media control section 152 when requested to write to a medium A which is an HDD converts a retrieved corresponding cluster to an LBA and then requests a device driver 103 to write in sector units. When failure in writing is reported from the device driver 103 in response thereto, the media control section 152 is made to request the device driver 103 to read the same sector that the device driver is requested to write, and then requests the device driver 103 to write to the same sector again after the writing.
