<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor and a method, and a program and a storage medium which can reduce stress of a user by plainly demonstrating the acquisition state of content data that a peripheral device has in an environment where a plurality of devices are connected by a network. <P>SOLUTION: Content data that a device which acquires both metadata and reduced images fast has are displayed in the form of reduced images 201, 202, and 208, and content data that a device which can acquire only metadata fast has are displayed in the form of metadata 203, and 205 to 207. For a device which acquires not only reduced images but also metadata slow, only an equipment image 204 is displayed.
