PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a probe fixing carrier such as a DNA chip for determining species to be determined capable of easily providing the results of determination without requiring an expensive device and complicated analysis, and a method of determination using the carrier.

SOLUTION: This probe fixing carrier for determining living thick species contained in a specimen is prepared by fixing probes for detecting the living thing species to be determined to the carrier in the relation of the position on a plane according to the classification of the living thing species to be determined on the basis of a predetermined standard.
