PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe system for introducing secondary air of a diesel particulate filter arranged in an exhaust passage.

SOLUTION: This invention relates to an operation method of a diesel internal combustion engine 10 having the diesel particulate filter 31 arranged in a compressed air supply source and an exhaust passage. The diesel internal combustion engine has further the pipe system for introducing the secondary air, and the secondary air is introduced to the exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine by a secondary air compressor. The compressed air supply source is used for driving the secondary air compressor.
