<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for an exhaust emission control system and the exhaust emission control system, capable of reducing, in forced regeneration control of an exhaust emission control device such as a data map mesh number and data map number for multi-injection control while avoiding a torque shock that is a sudden fluctuation of generated torque. <P>SOLUTION: When the operating state of an internal combustion engine 10 is a high-load operating state in forced regeneration control of the exhaust emission control device, general injection control in which multi-injection is stopped is performed.
