<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a naked nucleic acid construct comprising a coding sequence which encodes a mycobacterial stress protein or proline-rich antigen or an antigenically effective fragment thereof as a vaccine against a mycobacterial infection such as tuberculosis and leprosy. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to the use of a naked nucleic acid construct comprising a coding sequence which encodes a mycobacterial stress protein or proline-rich antigen or an antigenically effective fragment thereof operably linked to a promoter expressing the coding sequence in a mammalian host cell, in the manufacture of a medicament for use as a vaccine against a mycobacterial infection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
