<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cutting apparatus which has a simple cutting mechanism, provides superior cut surface and enables various cutting lengths to be easily set. <P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber cutting apparatus 1 includes: a cutting apparatus body 10; an optical fiber feeding base 20; a means 30 for setting a cutting length of an optical fiber; a pair of upper and lower clamps 41a, 42a and 41b, 42b for fixing a bare fiber 81; a slider 50 that slides orthogonally to the axial direction of an optical fiber 80; a blade 60 which is fixed on the slider 50 and which makes an initial scratch in a part of the bare fiber 81 fixed between the pair of upper and lower clamps 41a, 42a and 41b, 42b; and a push-up member 73 which is provided in the slider 50, is operatively connected with the blade 60, and, after the blade 60 makes the initial scratch in the bare fiber 81, imparts a bend thereto and cuts it. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
