PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of difficulty for a worker to easily carry a handle to be used in carrying an outdoor unit for the construction and to efficiently dispose the outdoor unit when the flat size of the outdoor unit is being made compact while the higher performance and larger capacity are requested. SOLUTION: The outdoor unit has the handle 18 projecting to the space S of prescribed dimensions in a heat exchanger 3 which is divided by the space S nearly equally into two upper and lower stages 2. Accordingly, an air distribution circuit 13 can secure a sufficient diameter of a fan 14, which largely contributes to the performance, without pushing the heat exchanger 3 toward the fan 14 on the flat surface structure. Furthermore, as fans 14a and 14b are disposed well-balanced corresponding to nearly equally divided upper and lower heat exchangers 3a and 3b respectively, the air-distribution balance can be secured, the high capability and performance can be achieved, and the outdoor unit can be easily and stably carried.
