PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To favorably suppress the remaining of an ink in an air discharging cap by efficiently performing an idle suction in the idle suction method for the air discharging cap for an inkjet printer. SOLUTION: In an air suction process of this air discharging cap 40, the air discharging cap 40 is tilted as shown in Fig.(B), and a gap is formed between a carriage 3 and the air discharging cap 40. By sucking in an ink from a suction port 47 in such a state, an air stream is formed toward the suction port 47 from the gap as shown by arrow in Fig.(C), and by the air stream, the ink can be carried in the direction to the suction port 47. Thus, by efficiently performing the air suction of the air discharging cap 40, the remaining of the ink in the air discharging cap 40 can favorably be suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
