PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel which can improve the rigidity of a hub and also increase the weld strength between the hub and flanges. SOLUTION: The reel 20 has a cylindrical hub 22 having a ledge 22A projecting radially inside and an outer surface to wind a recording tape T, a first flange 24 provided on one end of the hub 22 and having a first extension 24A welded to the ledge 22A, and a second flange 26 provided on the other end of the hub 22 and having a second extension 26A welded to the ledge 22A.
