PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus adjustment support apparatus capable of easily adjusting the focus of a lens device and to provide a focus adjustment method. SOLUTION: The apparatus is attached to the lens device of an imaging system 70 including: an imaging device having the lens device 10 with a focus adjustment means 12 requiring manual adjustment; and a case member 74 which is disposed at least in the photographing range of the lens device and in a predetermined position covering the focus adjustment means and in which a part corresponding to the photographing range is formed from a first translucent member having predetermined optical characteristics, and support the focus adjustment of the lens device. The apparatus includes: a second translucent member 110; and an attachment holding means 120 that holds the second translucent member and is attached to the lens device in a state of allowing the manual adjustment of the lens device by the focus adjustment means. The second translucent member is formed having the optical characteristic in which with the focus adjustment support apparatus attached to the lens device, the same imaging position as that in a condition where the case member is disposed in the predetermined position can be obtained.
