PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for fixing a panel easily and stably when fixing the heavy panel on a wall. SOLUTION: A mounting metal fitting 33 is provided in an opening of a C channel 30 at predetermined intervals. At a position corresponding to a top end and a bottom end of a first sound absorbing panel 21 to be fixed and also at a slightly wider position than the vertical width of the sound adsorbing panel 21, the C channel 30 is fixed almost horizontally on a wall surface 12 with the mounting metal fitting 33 preliminarily facing toward the front. Then, bottom end of the first sound adsorbing panel 21 is placed on the lower C channel 30, so that the sound adsorbing panel 21 is temporarily placed between the upper and the lower C channels 30, 30. Thereafter, a retaining metal fitting 31 wider than the vertical width of the C channel 30 is brought into contact along the longitudinal direction of the C channel 30 and the retaining metal fitting 31 is screwed to the mounting metal fitting 33 of the C channel 30, so as to fix the top end and the bottom end of the first sound adsorbing panel 21.
