PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock for sliding doors which locks and fixes the sliding doors by bringing them in close contact with each other, without forming a gap between the sliding doors in their thickness direction to prevent the doors from rattling, and which is useful for security. SOLUTION: The lock has in a box-shaped body structure 1 a sliding member 2 which moves linearly within the body structure 1; two linked shafts 4a, 4b penetrating holes formed in the sliding member 2, with both ends of each of the linked shafts fitted into grooves formed in the body structure 1; and a hook 3 retained by the two linked shafts 4a, 4b. Movement of the sliding member 2 causes movement of the two linked shafts 4a, 4b along the shape of the holes or the grooves. The shapes and the combination of the holes formed in the sliding member 2 and the grooves formed in the body structure 1 are specified so that when the doors are locked, drawing movement for drawing the hook 3 close to a lock body takes place after the rotary movement of the hook 3.
