PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid opening and closing device of a thermostatic chamber capable of automatic adaptation without omitting a lid and taking objects of temperature control such as microplates in and out in a narrow space. SOLUTION: The lid opening and closing device of the thermostatic chamber for opening and closing a lid 30 which moves in parallel with an opening surface of the thermostatic chamber 10 in approximately vertical directions includes a transmission mechanism (studs 50 and 52; pulleys 54, 56, an 58; and a wire 60) for transmitting movements in opening and closing directions applied to one end (30A) of the lid 30 also to the other end of the lid 30.
