The air bypass system (110) of a gas turbine inlet filter housing (100) includes an internal system increasing performance (40), especially a cooler. A channel (120) passes around the system (40), on the inlet filter housing (100). It contains a butterfly valve for throttling by opening and closing the channel. Further side- (120, 130) and upper- (140) channels are included. The channel (120) includes polymer. In use, the area for airflow is increased through the system, which is brought into action. The air flow area is then reduced during operation. An independent claim is included for the corresponding method of operation.
