<p>Provided is an ink jet recording apparatus wherein the image quality of an overlapping portion of unit heads is improved by simple jet control of a multi-head type recording head. An inkjet recording apparatus (1) is provided with a recording head (5) wherein a plurality of unit heads (5a, 5b) having a plurality of nozzle rows (5aL, 5aR, 5bL, 5bR) are arranged in a nozzle row direction; and a jet control means (10) for controlling jetting from the recording head (5) by outputting a driving pulse to a pressure generating means in each nozzle (6) of the recording head (5). In the recording head (5), the unit heads (5a, 5b) are arranged so that a plurality of nozzles (6) at the ends of the adjacent unit heads (5a, 5b) overlap each other. The jet control means (10) permits only one nozzle (6) of the overlapping pairs of nozzles (6) to jet an ink, and maintains the ink jetting nozzle (6) without change at least during continuous recording operation.</p> |
