Detection system and detection method

The system has two data buses that are attached to a bus control unit (17). A set of system interfaces (35, 37) is provided for outputting output data to a superordinate system control unit (33). A set of sensors designed as opto-electronic sensors (11, 13, 15) reads codes and produces appropriate read data, where each sensor is connected to both the data buses. Two incremental encoders (29, 31) are provided for detecting the transportation speed of luggage items and for producing appropriate incremental signals. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting and tracing optical codes at objects.
