The invention relates to a process for the culturing of E1-immortalized HER cells, preferably PER.C6 cells in a cell culture medium, wherein the cell culture medium comprises fructose, in particular D-fructose. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, fructose is fed to the cell culture medium and the cell culture medium comprises glucose.
