A method and a circuit for driving a display device are provided to prevent a degradation of an image quality due to a decrease in a charging ratio by increasing a pulse width for a region with the decreased charging ratio. A driving circuit for a display device includes a display panel(10), gate driving ICs(24-27), a data driving IC(31) and a timing controller(40). The display panel displays an image. The gate driving ICs supply scan pulses to the display panel. The data driving IC supplies an image signal to the display panel. The timing controller generates clock pulses with different pulse widths according to a position of the gate driving IC. Each of the gate driving ICs supplies scan pulses with different pulse widths in response to the corresponding clock pulse. The scan pulse has a pre-charging period, which is overlapped by a previous scan pulse by a predetermined amount of interval.
