An RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) recognition apparatus and a method thereof are provided to selectively operate a horizontal polarization feed part and/or a vertical polarization feed part of a linear orbital antenna to feed an RFID tag. An RFID recognition apparatus includes an antenna, a radio transceiver(110), a switch(108), and a controller(112). The antenna includes a plurality of polarization feed parts(104,106) which perform various polarization feeds. The radio transceiver transmits and receives data for RFID tag recognition signaling. The switch selectively connects one of the plurality of polarization feed parts to the radio transceiver. The controller switches the switch, attempts to read an RFID tag(100) and maintains the switching state of the switch when the RFID is read to perform the RFID tag recognition signaling. |
