METHOD FOR CLEANING THE FILTER OF A VACUUM CLEANER AND VACUUM CLEANER FOR CARRYING OUT SAID METHOD

The method is for the cleaning of the filter (24) of a vacuum cleaner (10), with a dust collecting container (12) in communication via a filter and suction line to a suction device, wherein by simultaneous opening of all shut-off valves the vacuum, which is created during the connection of a suction hose (18), is lowered to values of less than 40 per cent of the value formed with the valves closed for at least 10 ms and for a maximum of 150 ms. The vacuum cleaner may be equipped with a single filter. An independent claim is included for a vacuum cleaner for the carrying out of the aforesaid method.
