A lamp voltage inspection circuit and an inverter having the same are provided to protect the inverter without affecting peripheral elements by driving a shut down circuit based on a distorted output wave. An inverter includes a master and a slave, which generate driving voltages with opposite phases with respect to each other. A collector(110a) collects the outputs from the master and the slave. A comparator(110b) compares the collected voltage with a reference voltage and determines whether the inverter is defective. The collector includes first and second rectifiers(D1,D2) and an adder. The first rectifier rectifies the output voltage from the master. The second rectifier rectifies the output voltage from the slave. The adder summates the output voltages from the first and second rectifiers. |
