BACK LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME

A backlight assembly and a display device having the same are provided to prevent the movement of a lamp socket and maintain the strong join between a lamp and the lamp socket, by using a holding portion for covering the lamp socket. A backlight assembly comprises a lamp assembly and side mold members disposed at both ends of the lamp assembly. The lamp assembly includes a lamp(210), and a lamp socket for holding the lamp. Each of the side mold members includes a holding portion(350) for covering the lamp socket, and a separation preventing portion(360) formed in the holding portion to prevent the lamp from being upwardly separated from the lamp socket.
