The system has an analyze device (2) and a base station (3), where data transmission between the analyze device and the base station takes place within a period of time, in which a wireless communication connection exists. The data transmission is selectively implemented such that a partial quantity of data is transmitted from the analyze device to the base station within the period of time. The partial quantity of data is selected by a processor controlled selection algorithm such that the data transmitted in the time is a representative for the whole data stored in the device. An independent claim is also included for a method for selective data transmission within a diabetes care-system.
