APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TUNNEL FIRE DETECTION BASED ON IMAGE PROCESSING

A fast fire detection method and a device using image processing are provided to increase fire recognition accuracy and to process images at high speed by strongly processing characteristics unrelated to the position, size, and rotation changes of a fire and external limitation elements such as headlights and taillights of vehicles, lightings of a tunnel, and smoke. A fast fire detection method device using image processing for a tunnel is composed of a smoke detecting unit(100) for receiving images of N frames adjacent to each other in the input camera image and detecting smoke by processing the images through filtering; a flame detecting unit(200) for detecting a flame by using difference between a stored normal image and the input image; and a fire classifying unit(300) for determining the final fire state through the images obtained by the smoke detecting unit and the flame detecting unit.
