METHOD OF REPAIRING OPERATING SYSTEM USING EXTERNAL STORAGE

A method for repairing an OS(Operating System) with an external storage medium is provided to solve a problem by accessing the OS through the external storage medium and reloading only the files required for repairing the OS to the computer when the problem occurs in the OS of the computer. A computer is booted by using the external storage medium(S301). A file system accessible to a storage medium storing the OS is determined by trying to access the storage medium storing the OS according to more than one file system. An information file for the OS is searched from the storage medium and a type of the OS to be installed in the computer is determined based on the searched information file. A system file of the OS installed in the computer is replaced with the system file stored in the external storage medium by referring to the type of the OS and the file system, and a system file list(S305).
