A FAD/BAL automatic establishment device of a vehicle audio system and a method thereof are provided to distribute volume of the audio to seats optimally by sensing a seated state of an occupant through a riding sensor and displaying the riding position of the occupant and the set value of the present FAD/BAL on the screen of the audio system. A FAD/BAL automatic establishment device of a vehicle audio system comprises an operating switch(1), a riding sensor(2), a microprocessor(3), a FAD/BAL control part(4), and a display driving part(5). The operating switch selects a FAD/BAL function automatically or manually. The riding sensor senses the seated state of an occupant and outputs the sensed signal corresponding to the seated state. The microprocessor discriminates the riding state and riding position of the occupant and outputs a FAD/BAL setting control signal and a screen control signal corresponding to the riding state and riding position of the occupant. The FAD/BAL control part adjusts the FAD/BAL setting of the audio system. The display driving part displays the riding position of the occupant and the present FAD/BAL set value on the screen.
