The method involves coding a base station-code with a known value (PW1) and a code, where the base station code is extracted by a transponder (T) under an assumption of a correct transmission of the known value. Another code is coded with the extracted base station code before transmission to a base station (B), and is transmitted to the base station. A known value (PW2) is extracted and verified by the transponder from another coded transmission information. A memory area (10) of the transponder is authorized for write and read access after the known value (PW2) is verified as valid. An independent claim is also included for a system for data transmission between a base station and a transponder.
