METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR BROWSING BROADCAST PROGRAMS USING DYNAMIC USER INTERFACE

A method and an apparatus for browsing a broadcast program by using a dynamic user interface are provided to enable a user to browse broadcast programs by instinctively using EPG(Electronic Program Guide) information while using a one-dimensional simple input method and to change the arrangement standard of the broadcast programs dynamically. A method for providing a user interface for browsing plural broadcast programs comprises the following steps of: classifying the plural broadcast programs according to predetermined standards and determining plural groups(510); arranging all broadcast programs included in the groups in one dimension so that the determined groups are arranged in one dimension(520); selecting a program next to a currently selected broadcast program according to a first input signal and selecting a first broadcast program belonging to a group next to a group which a broadcast program belongs to wherein the broadcast program is currently selected according to a second input signal; and displaying a graphic of representing the arranged groups in one dimension and displaying an indicator of indicating a position of the currently selected broadcast program on the graphic(530).
