Class 64(1) Air in excess of that required for combustion is drawn through and heated in an annular space 9 surrounding a gas or oil fired combustion chamber 4 and is then directed into the combustion space from which the mixture of air and combustion gases is discharged through a duct 11. The air flow is preferably assisted by an induction fan (not shown), the quantity of air being controlled by a damper 8.
