The proposed system for measuring depths of water-storage reservoir contains a central control station with a receiver of the Global Positioning System (GPS) signals and a data base for storing the digital map of the depth measurement area, sounding vessels, water level detectors installed at hydrometric stations, detectors of the environment parameters, sonars installed at the sounding vessels, and a unit for data acquisition and processing. In the system, the remote control of the sounding vessels is accomplished by using receivers and transmitters of radio signals and receivers of the Global Positioning System signals.
