[PROBLEMS] A method of welding a discharging electrode tube capable of welding without forming a recess in the end plate of a bottomed, tubular discharging electrode and forming a gap between a discharging electrode and an electrode support lead. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The method of welding a discharging electrode tube which welds together a discharging electrode (11) integrally formed of a tube (12) and an end plate (13) and an electrode support lead (20) formed of a high-melting-point metal, and which comprises the step of allowing the tip end of the lead (20) to abut against the outer surface of the end plate (13) so as to press it, the step of applying a laser beam LB to the vicinities of the tip end of the lead (20) to heat the tip end of the lead (20) and burying the tip end into the molten portion of the end plate (13) while locally melting the end plate (13) in abutment with the tip end, and the step of cooling/solidifying the molten portion.
