A cine-camera, as in Fig. 1, has an accordian type loop holding strap in two parts 11, 12, each of which passes substantially parallel to the optical axis along an opposite side of the camera, the arrangement being such that the camera can be held by either hand or both hands passed upwards between the corresponding part of the strap and the side of the camera and the camera being provided on the top with at least one key for finger operation by the holding hand or hands. The strap may be of elastic material or is resiliently attached to the camera and/or has one or more resilient connecting pieces as at 13 between the two parts. A guide member 14 for the connecting piece 13 and positioned above the viewfinder eyepiece 4 may form a rest for the forehead. A release key for the camera is provided at 6 together with two operating keys 7, 8 for controlling the focusing of the objective 2. The straps may replace hinges for the sides 9 of the camera, which side may have roughened e.g. ribbed portions 9a. In a modified embodiment 1 (Fig. 2, not shown), the straps are continuously adjustable in length and the guide 14 is detachable. Similar separate straps may be provided on a ready-for-use carrier case for the camera.</p> |
