APPARATUS FOR SEALING AND CUTTING GLASS TUBE FOR BACKLIGHT UNIT

An apparatus for sealing and cutting a glass tube for a backlight unit is provided to seal and cut the glass tube while rotating the glass tube through a roller unit to perform a sealing and cutting process of the glass tube stably. Glass tubes(10) are supplied to a frame(100), wherein each of the glass tubes has a provisionally sealed electrode. A transfer unit(200) transfers the glass tubes onto the frame at a uniform pitch. Roller units(300) are installed at both sides of the frame to support and rotate both end portions of the glass tube. A torch is installed at the frame to heat the provisionally sealed portion of the glass tube. A cutting unit(500) is installed at the frame to cut the provisionally sealed portion of the glass tube. Elevating blocks are respectively installed at both sides of the frame. The elevating blocks repeat a process of loading the glass tube on the roller units from the transfer unit by elevating both end portions of the glass tube and transferring the elevated glass tube and a process of loading the cut glass tube on the transfer unit from the roller unit.
