A method for adjusting the channel frequency of a digital broadcasting apparatus is provided to detect center channel frequency information and channel frequency bandwidth information when reception and reproduction errors of a satellite digital broadcast occur, compare the detected information with prestored channel frequency information, set and store channel frequency information according to the difference of the compared information, and receive and reproduce the satellite digital broadcast according to the set and stored channel frequency information, thereby improving user's convenience. A method for adjusting the channel frequency of a digital broadcasting apparatus comprises the following steps of: detecting center channel frequency information and channel frequency bandwidth information when reception or reproduction error occurs during the reception and reproduction of a satellite digital broadcast(204,206); comparing the detected center channel frequency information and the channel frequency bandwidth information with prestored channel frequency information(208); setting and storing the prestored channel frequency information according to the detected center frequency information when a center frequency is the prestored channel frequency(210~220); and receiving and reproducing the satellite digital broadcast according to the set and stored center frequency information(222).
