A method for estimating frame timing and extracting broadcast information by using plural synchronization symbols, a transmitter, a receiver, and a mobile communication system supporting the method are provided to reuse a correlation value for estimating the frame timing to reduce calculation complexity wherein the correlation value is used for estimating the synchronization symbol timing. A method for estimating frame timing including plural synchronization symbols(410,420) in an OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) mobile communication system is composed of steps for receiving the synchronization symbols in a time domain; extracting symbol timing information and symbol code information by applying an autocorrelation operation for the synchronization symbols; and estimating the timing of a frame(400) on the basis of the symbol timing and symbol code information. The synchronization symbol includes signal patterns repeated at a predetermined cycle in the time domain.
