POLARIZING FILM FOR WINDOW AND FRONT WINDOW FOR VEHICLE

A polarizing film for window comprising at least an anisotropic absorber to thereby attain a ratio of reduction of horizontal polarized (S-polarized) element in incoming outside light of 90% or below. For example, in a preferred mode, the average of aspect ratio of the anisotropic absorber is 1.5 or higher, and the major axis of the anisotropic absorber is oriented approximately horizontally to the horizontal plane of the film. In another preferred mode, the major axis of the anisotropic absorber is oriented with an angle of less than ±30 degrees against the horizontal plane of the film. In a further preferred mode, the anisotropic absorber is either an anisotropic metal nanoparticle or a carbon nanotube. Furthermore, there is provided a front window for vehicle comprising the above polarizing film for window and an antireflective film.
