<p>The invention provides a collection of polymorphic sites associated with response to treatment by an SSRI or placebo in depression patients. The polymorphic sites and others in linkage disequilibrium with them are useful in determining whether to treat a patient with an SSRI or include a patient in a clinical trial to test an SSRI.</p>
