A filter assembly for a water treatment appliance is provided to perform a replacement operation simply and lower the production cost by simplifying structure of the filter assembly, and reduce costs for maintenance and management due to replacement of consumables by replacing only components for directly performing a filtering operation. A filter assembly(40) for a water treatment appliance includes: a filter cap(42) which has a water inflow port(421) formed on a side face thereof in a state that the water inflow port is connected to a raw water supply pipe, and a water discharge port(422) formed on a top face thereof in a state that the water discharge port is connected to a purified water supply pipe, and of which a bottom face is opened; a filter cartridge(44) in which a filter element is embedded, of which an top face is opened, and which has a plurality of water inflow holes(44a) formed on a side face of an upper portion thereof, wherein the upper portion including the water inflow holes is inserted into the bottom face of the filter cap and separably connected to the filter cap such that the water inflow port and the water inflow holes are in communication with each other, and the opened top face is communicated with the water discharge port; and a sealing means which is interposed between the filter cap and the filter cartridge, and which is positioned upper and lower sides of the water inflow holes in a state that the filter cap is coupled to the filter cartridge to flow the raw water into the filter cartridge through the water inflow holes in a state that raw water flown in through the water inflow port is not leaked to the outside by sealing a gap between the filter cap and the filter cartridge.
