A plurality of monitor cameras (2) photograph a vehicle (11) running on a road (10), respective image signals picked up by respective cameras (2) are input for A/D-converting into digital images, which are then changed in shape so that the road (10) faces in the longitudinal or lateral direction of digital images, an image-corrections are made to the shape-changed images so as to reduce the distortion of the vehicle (11), respective corrected images are synthesized so as to form a continuous road (10) for displaying on a monitor (61). Accordingly, it is possible to provide an image processing device improved in traffic abnormality detection, an image processing method, and a vehicle monitor system.
