A method and a device for recording data, a recording medium, and a reproducing method and device are provided to reproduce data recorded in a disc by updating even when the version of a firmware supporting a reproducing operation of the disc is different and to reduce a recording volume in a disc by providing server information only for updating. A recording medium comprises a stream area, a management area, and a firmware management area. The stream area includes a video stream. The management area includes reproducing management data controlling a video stream reproducing operation. The firmware management area includes ID information of a server which provides update data for a firmware. The server ID information includes a URL(Uniform Resource Locator) of the server. A data reproducing method includes a step of downloading and storing the firmware upgrade data by accessing the server using the server ID information.
