An air turbine VTOL aircraft is provided to improve stability since a cockpit is suspended below a propeller and to charge compressed air by activating an air compressor by the use of a gasoline engine or an electric motor. An air turbine VTOL aircraft acquires lift by rotating a propeller(8) having a shaft in common with air turbines(6) by rotating the air turbines and moves by controlling the direction of air discharged from the air turbine by the use of nozzles(7) at the time of take-off. When the air turbine is lifted by rotating the propeller, an arm(5) is stretched, thereby improving the flight stability. Since the air turbines use compressed air having not a high temperature, the air turbines need not to endure the high temperature. Accordingly, the air turbines are made of composite materials and light alloy, and therefore the air turbines are very light. When the lift power of the air turbine disappears after landing, the arm is contracted, thereby improving the stability.
