LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

An LCD and its fabrication method are provided to implement a wide viewing angle while simplifying a fabrication process by inclining liquid crystal molecules in four directions substantially at about 45 or -45 degrees with respect to a transmission axis of a polarizer plate. A common electrode display panel(200) includes a first insulating substrate, a color filter having a trench(135) formed on the first insulating substrate, and a common electrode formed on the color filter. A TFT display panel(100) includes a second insulating substrate facing the first insulating substrate, and a pixel electrode(82) formed on the second insulating substrate and having a domain division unit. A pair of polarizer plates(2) are disposed at both sides of the common electrode display panel and the TFT display panel, respectively. The trench extends substantially at about 45 or -45 degrees with respect to a transmission axis of the polarizer plate.
